Olivia

Olivia’s nickname is Osh

Blog entry photo

My granddaughter’s nickname is Osh. It so happens that there’s a city named Osh in Kyrgyzstan. Former Register-Guard Features Editor Grant Podelco and his wife, Daisy Sindelar, are journalists working in Prague, Czech Republic for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Daisy recently traveled to Kyrgyzstan to produce a series of stories. I asked Grant if he would ask Daisy to shoot a picture of an “Osh” sign to show Olivia. She did and this is how Osh looks in Kyrgyz.
